Explore the shores and waters of the mysterious Loch Ness with a drive through Scotland’s Great Glen. We’ll stop off at Fort Augustus where you can join a boat cruise along the loch and indulge in a spot of Nessie Spotting. At the head of the loch, we’ll visit Urquhart Castle before heading on to Inverness. After a spot of lunch, the city is yours to explore and its shops to plunder.

Tour Itinerary
Below is an example itinerary of the locations we will visit on a full day version of this tour.
Alistair will meet & welcome you oboard our luxury Mercedes vehicle and after settling in, we’ll head off for our first destination on the Isle of Skye.
Our first stop is at Banavie, outside Fort William and Neptune’s Staircase the UK’s longest staircase lock comprising of eight locks on the Caledonian Canal. The staircase was built by famed engineer Thomas Telford between 1803 and 1822.
We travel along the Great Glen which tracks along an ancient fault line and along the shores of a series on inland lochs.
We stop at Fort Augustus on the southernmost top of Loch Ness and allow time to walk around the town.
We highly recommend a spot of “Nessie Hunting” onboard one of the Loch Ness boat cruises that depart from here at scheduled times throughout the day.
We visit Urquhart Castle at Drumnadrochit and discover 1000 years of drama, experience a glimpse of medieval life and enjoy stunning views over Loch Ness from the ruins of one of the greatest castles in the Highlands.
Inverness is the capital of the Highlands and offers a wealth of opportunity for shopping, dining and exploring.
Take a tour around Inverness Museum & Art Gallery, head to Leaky’s Bookshop or shop in the Victorian Market
.Make sure to stop for a spot of lunch in one of the city’s many eateries.
After you’ve had your fill of exploring Inverness, we head out of the town to the Moray Firth and a chance to see the famous dolphins and their acrobatic antics.
We will set off from Inverness back to your drop off location. Following a full and satisfying day, we won’t tell anyone if you have a snooze.
